In this role, you’ll lead the design and implementation of AI architectures within a secure environment, focusing on prompt engineering, intelligent workflows, and model orchestration to power real-world national security solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Design and refine prompt strategies for large language models to ensure structured, reliable outputs
- Transition AI prototypes into production-grade systems with measurable impact
- Architect scalable, low-latency infrastructures capable of handling multiple concurrent AI workloads
- Own the full lifecycle of AI solutions—from concept and development to deployment and monitoring
- Integrate AI agents into complex workflows using function calling and tool orchestration patterns
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify high-value use cases for autonomous AI systems
- Translate operational needs into technical AI specifications with clarity and precision
- Ensure all systems meet strict standards for security, compliance, and ethical AI use
What We Need From You
- At least 5 years of software development experience, with 2 years focused on AI systems
- Hands-on experience in prompt engineering or agentic AI architectures (minimum 6 months)
- Strong proficiency in Python and related AI/ML libraries
- Experience deploying AI models in production environments
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Solid grasp of algorithms and data structures for optimizing AI performance
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related field—experience may substitute
- Programming experience with Go (Golang)
- Experience creating clear, impactful data visualizations
Technology Environment
You’ll work primarily with Python, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), and Go for performance-critical components.
Work Environment
This role is fully remote, open to candidates worldwide. Some positions may be based in Alexandria, VA, but remote work is supported 100%.
