Financial Analyst Role Overview
Support strategic financial initiatives for Grainger Canada through analysis, forecasting, and reporting. This role plays a key part in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial cycles, delivering data-driven insights that guide business decisions across regions and corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the preparation and analysis of financial results, identifying trends and variances in performance
- Collaborate with regional and corporate teams to evaluate customer, product, and service-related financial opportunities
- Support the annual financial planning cycle by preparing analyses, reports, and presentations
- Assist in developing quarterly forecasts and contingency strategies aligned with corporate targets
- Refine and analyze customer segmentation models across Small, Medium, Large, and National Accounts
- Monitor and update profitability assessments by customer segment
- Prepare financial components for capital appropriation requests, including cash flow projections and business case support
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates should hold a university degree, ideally in Business, Commerce, or a related field. Prior experience in financial analysis—particularly within distribution or wholesale—is beneficial. Strong analytical capabilities and experience with financial modeling are essential.
Proficiency in Excel is required, with experience in Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Snowflake, or Teradata highly valued. The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
Professional accounting designation is considered an asset. Demonstrated initiative in improving processes and a customer-focused mindset are key to success in this position.

Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this position ranges from $67,440 to $92,730. Additional compensation includes eligibility for a 5% incentive target, dependent on individual and company performance.
