Position Overview
This role supports institutional advancement by identifying individuals with significant philanthropic potential. The Analyst, Prospect Development conducts in-depth research to assess capacity, affinity, and giving history, helping guide strategic outreach by advancement teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research into employment, wealth indicators, affiliations, and philanthropic behavior to evaluate donor potential.
- Identify and recommend qualified prospects for advancement units based on data analysis and strategic alignment.
- Generate targeted prospect lists tailored to specific campaigns, initiatives, or unit objectives.
- Collaborate with fundraising teams through portfolio reviews, meetings, and timely responses to research inquiries.
- Ensure data integrity by auditing, updating, and standardizing records in the prospect management system.
- Extract and interpret data using SQL, CRM query tools, and specialized dashboards to support decision-making.
- Translate contact reports into structured data fields to enhance reporting and tracking capabilities.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on research tools, data practices, and available resources.
- Support portfolio optimization by following established protocols for prospect onboarding, engagement, and review.
- Produce analytical reports summarizing prospect pools by rating, geography, giving history, and other key dimensions.
- Assist in developing onboarding materials and lead training sessions for new team members.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives within the advancement enterprise as a representative of Research & Portfolio Management.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree is required, along with at least three years of experience in prospect research and relationship support within a development environment. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical abilities, proficiency in data retrieval, and experience with CRM systems such as Blackbaud. Fluency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential. Familiarity with SQL is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration across teams.
A master's degree in Non-profit Management, Information Science, Business, Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
Technical Environment
The role utilizes SQL, Blackbaud CRM, CRM query tools, specialized dashboards, and standard Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers an annual salary range of $56,000 to $63,000. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage, company-paid life insurance, a generous vacation allowance of 24 days per year, and strong pension benefits.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position requiring regular presence at the office to support collaboration and operational needs.
