As an Automation Architect, you will play a central role in advancing automation adoption across large-scale organizations. Your work will focus on designing and deploying solutions using Ansible Automation Platform, guiding clients from initial discovery through to production deployment. You'll lead workshops for mixed technical and business audiences, helping them define use cases and make informed architectural decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discovery and design sessions to assess customer needs and shape automation strategies.
- Define project scope and support customers through pilot and full-scale implementations.
- Create technical content and enablement materials used by sales, consulting, and support teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and services teams to improve customer outcomes.
- Develop standardized approaches and tools that enhance service delivery efficiency and reduce risk.
- Contribute to the broader DevOps community through whitepapers, webinars, open source contributions, and conference speaking engagements.
- Travel regularly to client sites across industries such as finance, retail, telecom, and government.
What We’re Looking For
You should have a background in designing complex technical solutions, with at least four years in a consulting or enterprise architecture role. Experience working directly with senior IT and business leaders is essential, along with strong communication skills for presenting to executive audiences.
Required expertise includes hands-on experience with Ansible and familiarity with configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet, or Salt. Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting is expected, along with a solid grasp of DevOps principles and cloud infrastructure. A self-driven learning mindset and passion for open source technologies are key.
Preferred Background
- Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines.
- Technical depth in virtualization and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, OpenStack, or VMware.
- Knowledge of container orchestration and management systems.
- Experience engaging with distributed teams and open source communities.
- Familiarity with QA processes, ticketing systems, or bug tracking tools.
- Understanding of infrastructure and OS-level security principles.
Work Environment
This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere in the United States, provided they are near an airport and reside in a state where the company operates. Expect frequent travel—approximately 30 to 40 weeks per year—to support client engagements.
