We’re building a resilient infrastructure for accessing public search data, and we need an engineer who thrives in the technical arms race against bot detection systems. Your role will center on understanding and bypassing real-time defenses from providers like Cloudflare, Akamai, PerimeterX, and DataDome through low-level manipulation of browser behavior, network fingerprints, and TLS signatures.
What You’ll Do
- Reverse engineer bot protection mechanisms to uncover detection vectors
- Develop and refine techniques to spoof browser fingerprints, including canvas, WebGL, audio context, fonts, and navigator properties
- Debug and manipulate TLS fingerprints (JA3, JA4, HTTP/2) to mimic legitimate clients
- Optimize Playwright and Puppeteer configurations for maximum stealth and reliability
- Analyze encrypted and unencrypted traffic using tools like Wireshark, mitmproxy, and Burp Suite
- Design internal tooling to test, validate, and monitor evasion effectiveness
- Document detection patterns and share insights across the engineering team
- Stay ahead of evolving bot mitigation strategies across major platforms
- Own your workflow—identify detection events, triage issues, and drive solutions
What We Need
- Deep familiarity with Playwright, Puppeteer, or Selenium internals
- Proven experience bypassing at least one major anti-bot system
- Solid understanding of browser fingerprinting and spoofing methods
- Hands-on experience with network analysis tools
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field
Nice to Have
- Experience with TLS fingerprinting (JA3/JA4) and HTTP/2 manipulation
- Knowledge of WebRTC fingerprinting and countermeasures
- Familiarity with Chromium or Firefox source code
- Background handling high-volume request systems (millions of requests)
- Contributions to open-source tools related to browser automation or evasion
