Shape the future of AI-driven scientific discovery by building intelligent agents that solve real research challenges. In this role, you'll design, implement, and maintain AI systems that move from prototype to production, directly supporting scientific innovation.
What You'll Do
- Develop and sustain AI agents that form the core of our research platform, guiding them from early concept to reliable deployment.
- Partner with science and engineering teams to experiment with new agent designs, prompting methods, tool integrations, and performance evaluation strategies.
- Build shared components—such as reusable agent skills, tool-use workflows, and benchmarking systems—that elevate the entire platform.
- Spend meaningful time with R&D collaborators to observe real workflows, validate your systems in practice, and gather insights that inform development priorities.
- Bridge the gap between field observations and internal research by helping steer the roadmap for future agent capabilities.
What We're Looking For
- At least three years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering systems used by real end users.
- Hands-on experience developing applications powered by large language models, including prompting strategies, context management, agent design, and evaluation frameworks.
- A solid foundation in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, data science, or a related technical discipline.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript, and the ability to adapt quickly to new tools and environments.
- Experience working across engineering, scientific, and product functions in fast-paced settings.
- Self-direction and problem-solving skills, especially when starting projects from scratch or navigating uncertain requirements.
Nice-to-Have
- Background in life sciences, biomedical research, scientific computing, or technical R&D environments.
- Experience building agent systems, tool integration pipelines, or evaluation frameworks for AI applications.
- Contributions to open-source projects in AI or scientific computing.
Technology Environment
You'll work with Python, TypeScript, and a suite of tools for building and evaluating LLM-powered agents, including custom prompting systems, agent architectures, and tool-use pipelines.
