As an Associate Data Analyst, you will partner with teams across product, sales, finance, HR, and operations to understand business needs and shape them into actionable data requirements. Your work will focus on creating scalable data assets—like curated datasets, standardized dashboards, and shared metrics—that multiple teams can use, reducing redundancy and increasing consistency.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define business problems and translate them into clear, data-driven requirements.
- Extract and analyze data using SQL to uncover trends, patterns, and key performance drivers from Workday and other enterprise systems.
- Design and refine reusable data products that support a variety of use cases across departments.
- Build intuitive reports and dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to enable self-service analytics.
- Work closely with analytics engineers and data engineers to align on data models, pipelines, and technical standards.
- Validate data accuracy by testing new or updated data products against source systems and resolving discrepancies.
- Document metrics, definitions, and usage guidelines to support data governance and ensure clarity across teams.
- Participate in design reviews and feedback sessions to refine data solutions based on user needs.
- Improve your analytical and product skills over time by taking on increasingly complex, cross-functional initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years in a data analyst or similar role solving business problems with data.
- Proven experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for relational databases.
- Hands-on work with a BI or visualization platform such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Background in finance is required.
- Understanding of relational data modeling, including joins, aggregations, and schema design for analytics.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex questions into structured analyses.
- Experience translating business needs into technical data or reporting specifications.
- Clear communication skills to explain data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with Python or R is a plus, as is experience with Workday or Salesforce data.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, build trust, and influence decisions through data.
- Comfort working in agile environments, adapting to feedback and shifting priorities.
