Leidos is hiring an AWS Cloud Engineer

Leidos is looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated solutions for deploying and managing AWS cloud infrastructure. This role is responsible for production workloads within AWS and Salesforce environments, ensuring efficient and reliable operations while supporting 24x7 call-center operations using Amazon Connect.

What You'll Do

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Oversee AWS and Salesforce based environments, supporting maintenance, release activities, and troubleshooting of Production issues.
  • Automate changes to environments using Terraform, CloudFormation, and scripting languages like Bash and Python.
  • Write and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for development, testing, and Production release to a 24x7 environment.
  • Configure networking and security controls within AWS and Salesforce, including external system integrations.
  • Support 24x7 call-center operations using Amazon Connect IVR and voice routing.
  • Maintain continuous monitoring and observability solutions to monitor system health and performance.
  • Implement and monitor auditing processes for AWS and Salesforce environments for compliance and security.
  • Participate in Sprint and Release-level activities, including deploying new capabilities in lower environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues in the Production environment and support system reliability to meet SLAs.
  • Maintain integration with external systems such as EHR APIs (FHIR), Identity and Authorization tools (Okta), and other third party tooling.
  • Maintain software and system configuration documentation.
  • Work with cybersecurity team to develop and deploy authorized, hardened solutions within AWS and Salesforce.
  • Reconfigure and manage software installation and license catalog in all environments.
  • Apply DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on IT systems deployed to AWS GovCloud as needed.
  • Stay updated on AWS advancements and recommend improvements to existing systems.
  • Assist development team activities during automation integration efforts, collaborating with government stakeholders and other contractors.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) with 4+ years supporting complex AWS environments.
  • AWS cloud infrastructure expertise, including AWS GovCloud.
  • Experience with common AWS services: VPC, S3, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Networking knowledge: AWS VPC, DNS, CIDR, and routing.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and/or structured programming languages.
  • Experience with Salesforce-based solutions and Salesforce development support (deployment automation, version control, administration).
  • Experience with IVR solutions like Amazon Connect and contact center technologies.
  • Experience with real-time audio/video streams (WebRTC, SRTP) and traditional voice (PSTN).
  • Knowledge of security concepts: TLS, PKI, x509.
  • Experience with security tools: ACAS, OWASP, SonarQube.
  • Experience with security controls and auditing.
  • Experience with DevOps & CI/CD: Pipeline-driven deployments leveraging GitLab, Jenkins, and Git.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic systems, computer programs, and virtual service platforms.
  • Must have a separate, quiet, private, confidential space to work from.
  • Must have access to reliable high-speed internet hard wired to home (coax or fiber). Hot spots or high latency ISP are not acceptable.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, speak fluent English, and able to maintain and retain suitability investigation and clearance as required.

  • Experience in or supporting a Contact Center, Military/Veteran services, or healthcare environment.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary: $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
