We're seeking a Backend Engineer to build and refine scalable server-side applications using Java and related technologies. In this role, you'll work within cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions across industries like telecom billing, financial services, and digital advertising.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement efficient, maintainable backend services using Java, Kotlin, and frameworks such as Spring, Quarkus, or Micronaut
- Write clear, well-documented code that supports long-term system reliability
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and domain experts to solve complex technical challenges
- Contribute to open source initiatives and internal innovation projects
- Help refine development workflows, tooling, and engineering best practices
What We're Looking For
- At least three years of hands-on software development experience
- Proven work with Java-based business systems and frameworks including Spring, Hibernate, or JPA
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Git
- Strong command-line proficiency on Linux with scripting experience
- Cloud experience, particularly with Amazon Web Services
- Experience operating production-grade systems in team environments
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a knowledge-sharing culture
- Residency in Slovakia, Poland, or Hungary
Preferred Experience
- Working knowledge of Camunda 7
