Applied Intuition was looking for a Business Development - Construction

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Development professional to lead customer acquisition and solution development in the construction and mining industries. This role plays a central part in bridging customer needs with technical capabilities, working closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to deliver tailored outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage potential customers, whether referred internally or discovered through market insight
  • Conduct discovery sessions to uncover customer challenges and align them with potential solutions
  • Lead workshops and customized demonstrations to communicate value clearly
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine existing products or support development of new offerings
  • Refine technical requirements and commercial terms through iterative customer feedback
  • Support the approval process on the customer side and help shape long-term revenue strategies
  • Track market trends and expand solution applications into adjacent domains

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development or sales within the construction or mining equipment space—OEMs, dealers, or suppliers
  • Track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, with experience juggling multiple timelines
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English is essential
  • Ability to engage directly with customers and lead technical discussions

Preferred Background

  • Experience with construction or mining technologies
  • Technical education or engineering familiarity

Work Environment

This is an onsite position located in Otemachi, Tokyo. Employees are expected to work from the office five days a week, though there is flexibility to begin mornings remotely or adjust schedules when needed. Occasional remote work is permitted, and the company supports responsible time management, including early departures for personal commitments.
