Role OverviewAs a Category Capabilities Analyst, you will play a key role in advancing category management practices across front-end and convenience retail channels. Based in Parsippany, NJ, this position operates under a hybrid model requiring three days per week in the office. Reporting to the Category Management Capabilities Sr. Manager, you will help build and refine a center of excellence by supporting technical systems, standardized processes, and customer-facing initiatives that strengthen retail execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain proficiency in Blue Yonder Space Planning to deliver data-backed planogram recommendations across retail formats.
- Manage and update the central planogram database, ensuring accurate reporting for internal teams and field sales representatives.
- Support consistent space and assortment planning to guide customer consultations and improve retail performance.
- Strengthen planogram compliance by aligning field and headquarters teams in space planning workflows.
- Integrate large-scale data sets with category management systems to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Maintain and support "Category to Customer" tools that allow field teams to adapt national strategies to individual accounts.
- Collaborate with commercial IT to assess and coordinate technology needs for the category function.
- Oversee the development and updates to the category management training program.
- Partner with sales and marketing to apply shopper and consumer insights into category strategies.
- Equip field teams with materials and insights to meet performance targets and improve customer engagement.
- Build strong working relationships with trade marketing, brand, and sales stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Act as a subject matter expert for key data platforms including assortment, IRI, and loyalty data tools.
- Support a high-performing team focused on delivering profitable growth and long-term strategic goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in analytics or data management within food, beverage, consumer goods, logistics, or manufacturing sectors.
- Proficient in Blue Yonder, Apollo Retail Space Planning, or similar planogram software.
- Experience working with syndicated data from IRI or Nielsen.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and guide business decisions.
- Familiarity with project and program management principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on building alignment across teams.
- Problem-solving mindset with a drive to innovate and improve existing processes.
- Skilled in using Excel and PowerPoint to organize and present data effectively.
- Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven success in cross-functional collaboration and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Compensation & Work Model
This position offers a salary range of $89,000 – $118,000 annually. The role follows a hybrid work model with three days per week required in the Parsippany, NJ office.
