About the Role

This role supports behavioral and mental health research initiatives within an academic setting, focusing on the development, implementation, and refinement of therapeutic interventions. The specialist plays a key part in advancing study protocols, creating intervention materials, and ensuring research integrity through adherence to institutional and regulatory standards.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with principal investigators and research teams to design and refine study materials, including participant guides and training manuals. Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to inform intervention design and identify valid outcome and fidelity measures. Deliver individual and group psychoeducational sessions following established protocols, while collecting detailed data on intervention delivery and participant response.

Perform qualitative interviews and code resulting data to support analysis. Contribute to manuscript development and the creation of clinical documentation. Continuously evaluate intervention effectiveness using feedback from participants and clinicians, and support iterative improvements. Stay current with evolving research standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in clinical research, applying new knowledge to study design and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • At least one year of experience in a research or clinical support role
  • Ability to follow and coordinate research protocols with attention to data integrity
  • Commitment to safety, infection control, and ethical research practices
  • Proficiency with data collection and documentation procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related discipline
  • Experience providing mental health support, including supervised clinical training
  • Background working with individuals facing serious illness, neurologic conditions, or in palliative or hospice settings
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office applications and data analysis software
