Design and manage secure, scalable cloud environments for critical federal missions. This position focuses on building and maintaining cloud infrastructure using modern DevSecOps practices, ensuring systems meet strict security and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy cloud solutions using infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support automated, secure software delivery
- Automate system operations with scripting in Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- Ensure cloud platforms comply with federal requirements including NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, and FedRAMP
- Implement and monitor identity and access management, encryption, and network security controls
- Support cloud-native applications on AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and EKS
- Diagnose and resolve issues across the full technology stack, from networking to application layers
- Collaborate with development and security teams to integrate safeguards into the software lifecycle
- Document system configurations and promote knowledge sharing across teams
- Stay current with evolving cloud technologies and security best practices
Required Qualifications
- Five years of experience in DevOps or cloud engineering roles
- Three years administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS systems
- Experience with AWS or comparable cloud platforms and command-line interfaces
- Proven background with CI/CD implementation and maintenance
- Proficiency in automation tools including Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
- Scripting experience using Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- Familiarity with DNS, VPN, HTTPS, and network troubleshooting
- Understanding of cloud security controls and compliance frameworks
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or four years of equivalent professional or military experience
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or equivalent (e.g., Security+, CISSP)
Preferred Skills
- AWS certifications in Solutions Architect, DevOps, or Security specialties
- Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, Docker, and container orchestration
- Familiarity with Agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban
- Background working in national security or air-gapped environments
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role available in select U.S. locations, including California, Colorado, Maryland, New York, and the District of Columbia. Work expectations may vary by office, role, and technical specialty.
