Role Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Lead Analytics Engineer to strengthen our data team. In this role, you’ll lead the design and optimization of analytics systems, ensuring data is reliable, accessible, and actionable. You'll apply engineering rigor to analytics workflows, building scalable data models and improving data quality across pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain modular, reusable data models using best practices in data engineering
- Optimize SQL performance and ensure efficient execution across large datasets
- Transform raw data into structured, business-ready formats that support strategic decision-making
- Conduct in-depth code reviews and provide technical mentorship to other data engineers
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data requirements and validate logic
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines with automated testing and validation checks
- Enhance data warehouse capabilities by integrating clean, well-documented datasets
- Support data visualization initiatives and help teams interpret available tools
- Apply software engineering principles—including version control and CI/CD—to analytics code
- Lead technical initiatives from scoping to implementation, including data migrations and system upgrades
- Build automation tools to streamline data infrastructure operations
Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles
- Strong command of SQL and Python, with proven experience in production-level analytics code
- Deep familiarity with dbt, DAG orchestration tools (such as Airflow or Dagster), and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
- Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
- Proficiency with Tableau and semantic layer management
- Background in managing data catalogs and implementing data testing frameworks
- Hands-on experience with relational and schema-less datastores, including document and graph databases
- Proven ability to work independently, lead technical projects, and drive data quality improvements
Technical Environment
Our stack includes SQL, Python, dbt, Airflow/Dagster, Tableau, AWS, GCP, Terraform, and a mix of relational and NoSQL datastores.
Contract Details
This is a remote contract position open to candidates based in Mexico or Argentina. Due to the contractual nature of the role, no company-sponsored benefits are provided.
