Data Analytics Support Engineer – Support Space Innovation Through Advanced Analytics
You will play a key role in advancing data capabilities for space program evaluations at a major European research facility. Your responsibilities span data preparation, model development, and insight generation to inform strategic decisions. You'll work with diverse datasets, applying modern techniques to extract meaningful patterns and support evidence-based outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate technical evaluations and research initiatives
- Conduct qualitative research using interviews, surveys, peer reviews, and content analysis
- Develop and maintain digital twin systems and data models using SQL and integration tools
- Process and validate data from sources including SQL Server, Excel, APIs, SharePoint, and cloud platforms
- Apply AI and machine learning techniques using Python, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and Hugging Face transformers
- Design data visualizations using Power BI and similar tools
- Build information retrieval systems with Large Language Models and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Deliver analytical outputs in various formats, from reports to interactive dashboards
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to refine models and deliverables
- Support knowledge sharing and documentation within the team
Qualifications and Requirements
A Master’s degree in a relevant technical or analytical field is required. Candidates must be eligible for security clearance from an EU Member State. Experience with SQL, Python, cloud environments, and machine learning frameworks is essential. Familiarity with Power BI, SharePoint, and API integrations is highly valued.
Work Environment and Benefits
This hybrid role is based in the Netherlands, with three days per week on-site at the research facility and two days remote. Core working hours apply, but schedules are flexible.
