Responsibilities
- Create efficient data workflows and pipelines to enable ETL/ELT processes, ensuring high data quality and secure transfer between AWS cloud and on-premises systems.
- Apply systems engineering methodologies to build reliable, scalable, and maintainable data infrastructure, including robust backup and recovery solutions.
- Design, deploy, and manage data streaming platforms such as Kafka, Redpanda, and Kinesis on Kubernetes, using declarative configurations to simplify ongoing operations.
- Collaborate with platform teams to enforce strong configuration management, security controls, and performance tuning in Kubernetes and AWS environments.
- Partner with platform engineers to automate infrastructure setup, monitoring, and scaling using tools like Terraform, and work alongside cybersecurity experts to integrate threat defense measures.
- Ensure all data systems adhere to industry standards and Department of Defense regulations for security and compliance.
- Monitor advancements in containerization, Kubernetes, and data engineering to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
