Responsibilities
- Apply strong understanding of computer science principles, data systems, intelligence methods, and large-scale data management.
- Show advanced proficiency in Python and interactive computing platforms such as Jupyter Notebooks or Jupyter Lab.
- Write clear, well-structured code in Python and related languages using standard development tools including VS Code, Spyder, PyScript, or Jupyter environments.
- Design and implement sophisticated software solutions, algorithms, queries, and models to address challenging intelligence questions and automate data processing workflows.
- Review, troubleshoot, and improve existing and new Python code, modernizing outdated scripts to maintain security and performance.
- Ensure all code is thoroughly documented with inline comments and structured formatting, following recognized standards like PEP-8 or IDE-specific style guidelines approved by the government.
- Work with diverse technical teams to align data sources with operational needs and business objectives.
- Uncover significant patterns in data, interpret results accurately, and present actionable insights and suggestions to decision-makers.
- Evaluate project requirements and assess data science technologies including natural language processing, machine learning, predictive analytics, statistics, and hypothesis validation.
- Stay current with advancements in analytics and large-scale data technologies.
- Successfully complete NSA course NETA1400 (Technology Fundamentals for Analysis).
- Pursue recommended training including NSA courses NETA2402/NETA2108, RPTG2238, RPTG2235, RPTG3225, RPTG3222, or comparable programs.
