As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the ongoing operation, security, and optimization of multi-platform database environments, including Azure, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle. Your work will directly impact system reliability, data integrity, and regulatory compliance across mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain database systems across on-premises and cloud environments
- Manage database upgrades, patches, and data migrations with minimal disruption
- Monitor performance metrics and apply tuning techniques to ensure optimal response times
- Enforce security protocols, including access controls, encryption, and audit logging
- Develop and test backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
- Optimize SQL queries, indexing strategies, and caching mechanisms
- Collaborate with developers on schema design and query efficiency
- Support production systems and resolve database-related incidents promptly
- Document configurations, procedures, and best practices for team reference
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required, along with at least five years of hands-on database administration experience. You must have strong expertise in relational database design, SQL scripting (T-SQL, PL/SQL), and performance analysis tools such as SQL Profiler or Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Experience with cloud database services—including Azure SQL, AWS RDS, and Oracle Cloud—is essential. Familiarity with government compliance standards such as CMMC or HIPAA is highly valued. Candidates must be U.S. citizens due to contractual requirements.
