About the Role

Role Overview

This position focuses on the design, operation, and automation of scalable infrastructure within a hybrid environment based in Lisbon. You'll play a key role in ensuring system reliability, performance, and seamless integration across complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration and stability of distributed systems across on-premise and cloud setups.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and efficient orchestration.
  • Implement and support DevOps tooling to streamline CI/CD workflows and infrastructure automation.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize high-performance systems handling large volumes of traffic and data.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives to scale and secure enterprise-grade infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years managing Linux systems and open-source technologies.
  • Proven expertise in Kubernetes administration, including cluster lifecycle management.
  • Strong background in relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Hands-on experience with web servers including Apache and Nginx, including setup and debugging.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using Jenkins.
  • Working knowledge of email protocols including SMTP, IMAP, and POP.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging stacks such as Elastic Search, Kibana, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Proficiency with NoSQL systems like Redis and MongoDB.
  • Understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP, UDP, LDAP, and FTP.
  • Practical experience with containerization using Docker and infrastructure automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Nagios.
  • Scripting skills in bash and Python for automation and system diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges in high-availability environments.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
  • Familiarity with Java-based environments.
  • Experience with GitLab CI for building and managing pipelines.
  • Background in cloud-based DevOps, especially on Azure.
  • Knowledge of Golang or other languages commonly used in infrastructure tooling.
  • Experience working with Rancher for Kubernetes management.

Work Environment
