This role is responsible for the remote monitoring and management of IT infrastructure supporting critical services in both hosted and cloud environments. The DevOps Engineer will ensure system stability, performance, and rapid incident resolution across distributed platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance through dashboards and respond promptly to alerts and incidents
- Deploy server software continuously using automated pipelines across cloud and on-premise infrastructure
- Develop and maintain monitoring systems, including custom alerts, response protocols, and escalation procedures
- Analyze operational reports from internal systems and third-party vendors to assess service health
- Automate routine reporting tasks and generate regular summaries on uptime, cost, traffic trends, and system health
- Lead troubleshooting efforts during service disruptions and coordinate with internal teams and external partners
- Collaborate with engineering and leadership to improve system reliability and operational efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in IT operations, including cloud platforms such as AWS
- Proficiency with monitoring tools including Splunk, Nagios, Zabbix, or AWS CloudWatch
- Strong scripting abilities in Python, Ruby, Perl, or Shell for automation and system management
- Experience with configuration management systems like Puppet or Chef
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Maven
- Background in deploying applications on Jetty over Linux environments
- Working knowledge of MySQL and Hadoop as data backends
- Proven experience supporting commercial services and managing technical escalations
Preferred Skills
- Ability to write complex queries in MySQL and Hive
- Experience with version control systems such as Git, Perforce, or ClearCase
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
