Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring cost efficiency
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Deployment Manager to automate and manage infrastructure deployments
- Establish and enforce security protocols, Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, and compliance measures to protect data and meet organizational requirements
- Manage cloud networking components such as Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, firewalls, Virtual Private Networks, and interconnects for secure connectivity
- Create and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (or development) pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions to enable automated and efficient application deployments
- Optimize cloud expenditures by leveraging cost-saving strategies like committed use discounts, autoscaling, and resource rightsizing
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
- Cloud-native application architecture and deployment
- Proficiency with tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible for managing infrastructure and applications
- Strong experience with (IaC) tools, including Terraform and GCP-native Deployment Manager
- Expertise in security practices, IAM policies, and compliance requirements for cloud environments
Nice to Have
- Google Cloud certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, or Professional DevOps Engineer are highly valued
- Experience in optimizing cloud environments to enhance performance, cost, and scalability
- Ability to stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and best practices within GCP
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, thriving in fast-paced environments and working well within cross-functional teams
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across various technical and non-technical teams
