Nexstar is looking for a Digital Overnight Supervising Producer to lead overnight journalism and storytelling for NewsNation, our 24/7 national media outlet. You will ensure high journalistic standards and oversee the creation of news content for digital and broadcast platforms during overnight hours, dedicated to a truly all-platform experience.
What You'll Do
- Ensure NewsNation journalism maintains high standards and differentiates our brand.
- Create and oversee news content, including assigning and reviewing stories, video, and social content.
- Showcase and prepare original content for an excellent morning news experience.
- Craft compelling headlines, teases, and social media posts that encourage engagement.
- Package content to encourage audience engagement and increase time on site.
- Manage breaking news content for sharing across the entire Nexstar network.
- Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to meet journalistic integrity and production quality standards.
- Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels.
- Utilize SEO best practices.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years working as a digital reporter, producer, manager, or editor in a major market or national newsroom.
- Strong news judgment and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal.
- Experience working with video and social media.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising, or marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
