About the Role

The role involves overseeing electronic publishing workflows, formatting digital publications, and collaborating with editorial teams to ensure high-quality output across platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the production of digital publications from submission to final release
  • Ensure content adheres to established formatting and accessibility standards
  • Collaborate with editors and authors to prepare manuscripts for digital platforms
  • Implement and maintain metadata standards for digital content
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to e-publishing systems
  • Support the integration of digital publications with library repositories
  • Maintain version control for digital documents and updates
  • Assist in the development of publishing templates and style guides
  • Coordinate with vendors for digital distribution and hosting
  • Monitor publishing schedules and track project timelines
  • Train staff on digital publishing tools and workflows
  • Evaluate new publishing technologies and recommend improvements
  • Ensure compliance with copyright and licensing requirements
  • Prepare digital files for multiple output formats including PDF and web
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on final publications
  • Support accessibility standards for digital content
  • Maintain documentation for publishing processes
  • Work with IT teams to ensure system compatibility
  • Assist in archiving digital publications
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve publishing efficiency

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in library science, publishing, or related field
  • Experience with journal publishing platforms such as OJS
  • Knowledge of semantic markup and data encoding standards
  • Experience in an academic or research library setting
  • Familiarity with digital preservation practices
