Role Overview
As an Exadata Database Machine Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-grade database infrastructure that supports critical business operations. Your work will ensure system reliability, performance efficiency, and data security across hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Exadata Database Machines, including hardware and software components
- Optimize SQL execution, storage allocation, and overall system performance
- Apply Full Stack Download Patches (FSDP) and infrastructure-level updates on a regular schedule
- Monitor cell servers, compute nodes, and InfiniBand/RoCE networks to maintain high availability
- Manage ZFS storage pools, projects, and shares, including snapshots and replication
- Ensure data integrity and support disaster recovery through replication to secondary sites
- Administer ZDLRA systems to enable zero data loss and rapid, verified recovery
- Automate backup policies and configure real-time redo log transmission to ZDLRA
- Secure encryption keys, wallets, and credentials using Oracle Key Vault and hardware security modules
- Manage user roles, endpoints, and access controls with role-based security policies
- Configure and maintain OKV clusters, including replication and node management
- Perform backups, restores, patching, and service management for security-critical components
- Enforce compliance through encryption, auditing, and FIPS mode configuration
- Diagnose and resolve performance, storage, or availability issues under pressure
- Automate routine tasks using shell scripts, Python, or Ansible playbooks
- Develop standard operating procedures and disaster recovery documentation
- Install and manage Oracle Clusterware and ASM environments
- Monitor I/O resource management (IORM) to balance database workloads
- Configure low-latency networking via InfiniBand or RoCE fabrics
Required Qualifications
You bring at least 8 years of experience in infrastructure architecture focused on Oracle, Linux, and Exadata environments. You have deep technical knowledge of ZDLRA and ZFS storage systems, with proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues. You’re skilled in Linux system optimization and committed to continuous learning. You work effectively in hybrid settings and collaborate across teams to improve system efficiency.
