This role supports executive decision-making through comprehensive financial analysis, reporting, and strategic planning. The Senior Financial Analyst collaborates closely with the CFO to manage cash flow, assess liquidity, and guide financial strategy with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of the investment portfolio, evaluating performance and risk to inform strategic adjustments.
- Prepare detailed monthly investment reports and support due diligence for approved brokers and financial institutions, including FHLB and Corporate Credit Union (Catalyst).
- Maintain complete and accurate brokerage documentation and ensure adherence to internal controls.
- Lead data preparation for quarterly Asset-Liability Management (ALM) reporting, ensuring precision and process efficiency.
- Serve as primary contact with ALM vendors, interpreting assumptions and results, and compile reports for the ALCO Committee.
- Guide the annual budget process under CFO oversight, coordinating with management to gather inputs, build assumptions, and consolidate financial models.
- Develop and maintain budget templates, generate variance analyses by cost center, and produce materials for leadership and Board review.
- Support financial forecasting by integrating economic trends and industry data into forward-looking models.
- Measure and track profitability by branch and product line to enhance financial visibility across the organization.
- Conduct peer group benchmarking and deliver comparative analyses to support strategic planning.
- Design and document financial processes and internal controls, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
- Assist in streamlining the NCUA 5300 Call Report process and serve as backup for submission.
- Act as system super-user for finance platforms, creating custom reports and supporting system integrations.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment and timely delivery of financial information.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree with a focus in finance or a related field. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong data analysis capabilities are essential. Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting is required, with preference given to those with 5–7 years in a financial institution setting. Familiarity with accounting and finance systems is necessary, along with polished communication skills and a commitment to confidentiality and professional conduct.
