Responsibilities
- Transform validated pre-sales prototypes into fully functioning production deployments, including configuring data pipelines, optimizing models, setting up edge devices, and connecting with existing customer systems.
- Install and maintain computer vision applications on physical edge hardware in real-world environments where conditions are unstable and network access may be limited, requiring direct interaction with hardware.
- Collaborate directly with customer engineering teams on-site or in embedded settings during early deployment phases, typically lasting 4 to 12 weeks, to build relationships, share expertise, and lay the groundwork for sustained performance.
- Develop robust, production-quality software that operates within client environments, addressing real-world challenges such as inconsistent lighting, camera alignment issues, model degradation over time, network delays, and hardware limitations.
- Act as a primary field observer, gathering insights from customer operations and frontline personnel to identify discrepancies between stated requirements and actual needs, then feeding this intelligence back to internal product and engineering teams.
- Record deployment designs, create operational guides, and train client staff to manage systems independently, ensuring a smooth transition to implementation engineers for future scaling efforts.
- Proactively detect and mitigate technical obstacles; adapt deployment strategies when environmental constraints threaten project viability, preventing failures before they occur.
- Develop standardized deployment frameworks, reusable templates, and shareable components to accelerate and stabilize future customer rollouts.
Other
- Must be available to travel for approximately 40–50% of the time to support on-site customer installations.
- Expected to participate in regular weekly meetings aligned with US business hours, as core operations follow that schedule.
- Outside of required meetings, the role offers a flexible work structure that supports both collaborative and asynchronous workflows.
