The Freight Analyst supports the global helium supply chain by overseeing freight cost management, logistics coordination, and digital transformation projects. This role ensures financial integrity through accurate validation of freight invoices in collaboration with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party audit providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and reconcile freight invoices, ensuring compliance and accuracy across international shipments.
- Manage the coordination between logistics suppliers and the global freight auditor, maintaining strong oversight of audit processes.
- Compile and analyze monthly freight data to support financial closing, cost tracking, and variance reporting against targets.
- Generate performance insights through freight KPIs and deliver regular operational reports, including the monthly Maritime Freight Flash.
- Assist in procurement activities such as tender preparation, supplier evaluation, and contract updates based on RFQ outcomes.
- Process purchase requisitions and goods receipts for freight services, ensuring proper documentation and system records.
- Identify sourcing synergies by engaging with global suppliers and aligning regional logistics strategies.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to track freight costs, container performance, route efficiency, and regional trends.
- Design tools to monitor CO₂ emissions and support sustainability reporting across transportation networks.
- Collaborate with digital and TMS teams to transition reporting into the Transport Management System and enhance data integration.
- Explore automation opportunities using AI solutions like Gemini to streamline invoice auditing and scenario modeling.
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. Expertise in Power BI is essential, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and data transformation using Query Editor. Proficiency in G Suite applications, particularly Google Sheets, is required. Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of French or Chinese is an advantage.
Experience with Transport Management Systems or freight audit workflows is preferred. The role demands strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work across multicultural teams in a global environment.
