About the Role
Join a growing engineering team building the Modo Terminal, a platform for energy market professionals that combines data, research, and AI-driven tools. Teams work autonomously on end-to-end product capabilities using TypeScript, React, and Next.js within a shared monorepo, supported by a unified design system. Engineers contribute across the stack and deploy independently, accelerating development in an AI-enhanced environment.
Responsibilities
- Guide the evolution of the frontend monorepo to support team growth and product complexity.
- Create and maintain reusable UI components in an internal library based on MUI for cross-team use.
- Develop responsive, high-performance interfaces that process real-time energy market data.
- Produce thoroughly tested code using Jest, Cypress, or Playwright, and support strong team practices in code review and documentation.
- Balance feature development with ongoing system maintenance, including performance optimization and incident resolution.
- Collaborate directly with designers and domain specialists to align engineering with user and business needs.
- Occasionally engage with backend systems and infrastructure, such as modifying APIs, adjusting deployments, or improving data pipelines.

The Role
Modo Energy's engineering team builds the systems behind the Modo Terminal, the data, research, and agentic platform that energy market professionals rely on every day. We're growing fast, and our ambitions are growing faster: from a data and research product to an agentic layer that lets users work with our domain knowledge through natural language and AI-assisted tools. We're hiring frontend engineers to join one of our product teams: Terminal, Data, Ko (our AI Analyst), or Modelling. Each team owns a business capability end-to-end, including its own frontend, backend, and infrastructure, and every team ships to production independently, without centralized approval. Wherever you land, you'll help shape a shared TypeScript, React, and Next.js codebase in a monorepo built for rapid, AI-assisted development, and you'll build against a company-wide design system so what you ship stays consistent with the rest of the product.
