As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will play a central role in designing and evolving a high-impact platform dedicated to advancing decarbonization efforts worldwide. You'll take full ownership of features—driving them from initial concept through to deployment and beyond—while helping to shape the core architecture that powers the system.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and scale backend services and frontend applications that handle complex data workflows, including emissions tracking and flow visualization
- Architect responsive, modular single-page applications that deliver intuitive user experiences
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and AWS, ensuring reliability and scalability
- Work within CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, consistent, and reliable deployments
- Collaborate with product and UX/UI designers to turn conceptual visions into robust, production-grade software
- Champion code quality through active participation in reviews and by promoting engineering best practices
- Optimize system performance by identifying and eliminating bottlenecks across the stack
- Contribute to technical decision-making as the platform grows, ensuring long-term maintainability and scalability
- Balance competing priorities while delivering high-quality solutions aligned with business goals
- Stay engaged with emerging technologies and evolving methodologies to continuously improve the engineering culture
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience across the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and make impactful architectural choices
- Strong experience building and scaling backend systems and frontend SPAs
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform), cloud platforms (AWS), and modern CI/CD workflows
- Experience working with complex datasets, particularly in data-intensive applications
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, and engineering teams
- A mindset focused on performance, quality, and continuous improvement
- Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and uplifting team standards
Work Environment
This role operates under a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence several days per week—three days in Cambridge or two for London-based team members. You’ll work in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment where ownership and impact are central to how work gets done.
