As an Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician, you will play a key role in sustaining reliable operations at an industrial facility by applying multi-disciplinary skills to maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance critical systems. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, you will uphold rigorous safety standards while diagnosing and resolving equipment issues across mechanical, electrical, robotic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow and promote strict safety protocols, actively identifying and reducing hazards in equipment, processes, and behaviors
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of AC and DC drives, motors, and control systems
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs as needed, ensuring seamless integration with automation systems
- Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Apply welding, machining, and fabrication skills to build or repair components using lathes, mills, drills, and other shop tools
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to minimize unplanned downtime
- Collaborate with operations teams to identify and correct performance issues affecting safety, quality, or efficiency
- Document all maintenance activities in the CMMS to maintain accurate asset history and support reliability planning
- Support operator training initiatives to strengthen frontline ownership of equipment care
- Lead or assist in optimizing maintenance procedures and improving accessibility for inspections and lubrication
Qualifications
Successful candidates will demonstrate proven ability in industrial maintenance disciplines, with hands-on experience in reading electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics. Proficiency in NFPA 70E standards, CMMS platforms, and Microsoft Office is required. Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills are essential. A high school diploma or vocational training is expected; an associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position based in Onslow County, operating on a day shift schedule that may include travel and overnight stays. The role demands physical engagement with machinery and adherence to strict safety and housekeeping standards, including compliance with 5S principles.
