Role Overview
This position involves on-site inspection, maintenance, and repair of electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at customer locations. The technician ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and hazard prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on industrial lifting systems, including electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Diagnose issues involving 480-volt three-phase motors, control systems, and structural components.
- Conduct safety audits after repairs to verify operational integrity and compliance.
- Deliver technical guidance to customers on equipment performance and safety improvements.
- Complete digital service reports and obtain customer approvals using company-issued tools.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and safety recommendations.
- Stay current with OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and HMI standards through ongoing training.
- Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all site-specific safety protocols.
- Support on-call rotations, including after-hours and weekend service as scheduled.
- Coordinate with field operations and service teams to ensure timely service delivery.
- Inspect and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in industrial equipment maintenance, particularly with crane systems.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, including experience with three-phase motor systems.
- Comfort working at significant heights and in industrial environments.
- Familiarity with safety regulations such as OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and HMI.
- Ability to document service work accurately and efficiently using digital platforms.
- Willingness to travel frequently and participate in on-call service rotations.
Work Environment
This role is based in Winchester, VA, but requires regular travel to customer sites across the United States. Technicians must follow strict safety procedures and adapt to various industrial settings. The position supports a safety-first culture, continuous learning, and close collaboration with clients to improve material handling solutions.
