Orca Bio is hiring an Informatics Analyst

About the Role

The Informatics Analyst plays a key role in advancing data analytics within a leading healthcare organization, focusing on performance measurement, quality reporting, and survey analytics. Working closely with Quality and IT teams, the analyst helps shape how data is collected, stored, and used to inform strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply statistical analysis, data modeling, and technical expertise to extract, clean, and interpret complex datasets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and design analytics solutions aligned with business needs
  • Develop and maintain reporting systems using tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and programming languages like R or Python
  • Translate clinical and operational questions into analytical frameworks that drive actionable outcomes
  • Support data governance practices, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance across systems
  • Design user-friendly analytics platforms for non-technical staff to access and interpret data independently
  • Present findings to stakeholders and leadership through clear visualizations and concise summaries
  • Manage concurrent projects with attention to deadlines, documentation, and system maintenance

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least three years of experience, a Bachelor’s with five years, or a Doctorate with one year of applicable work. Expertise in healthcare data environments—including electronic health records such as Epic and Clarity—is essential.

Required skills include proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Business Objects), experience with data mining and programming (SAS, Python, R), and a solid understanding of statistical and optimization modeling. Strong communication abilities and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively are critical.

Preferred qualifications include Lean Six Sigma training, completion of a recognized quality academy program, clinical or health information management credentials, and advanced experience with Power BI.

Work Environment

This hybrid position requires proximity to one of several designated campuses, allowing for a combination of remote and on-site work. The role supports a culture centered on patient-centered care, employee development, and continuous learning.

Benefits & Commitment

It is committed to diversity and inclusion, providing equal opportunities regardless of race, gender, religion, veteran or disability status.
