Clyde & Co is hiring an International Tax Accountant EMEA

About the Role

This role supports comprehensive international tax compliance across EMEA jurisdictions, with primary responsibility for VAT, withholding tax, income tax, corporation tax, and partnership-related filings. The accountant ensures accurate and timely submission of tax returns and maintains a centralized compliance calendar to track all deadlines globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review VAT and withholding tax returns across multiple countries
  • Calculate monthly tax accruals and reconcile tax ledgers
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all corporation and partnership tax filings
  • Support year-end reporting, including consolidated corporation tax calculations and profit extraction reconciliations
  • Assist with tax compliance for new office setups, acquisitions, restructures, and dissolutions
  • Coordinate with finance teams and external advisers to gather data and validate submissions
  • Support Country-by-Country Reporting and Pillar 2 compliance requirements
  • Review tax payments and filings to ensure accuracy and regulatory alignment
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and implement necessary adjustments
  • Facilitate tax aspects of partner movements, including joiners, leavers, and transfers
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce reliance on external advisers

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must have hands-on experience in multinational tax compliance, including preparing or reviewing VAT and withholding tax returns, managing accruals, and reconciling tax accounts. Familiarity with global accounting systems and the ability to coordinate with international finance teams is essential. A strong understanding of corporation tax and partnership tax frameworks across EMEA is required.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role based in Manchester, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office and flexibility for remote work on other days. The position reports to the International Tax Manager or Global Head of Tax and involves regular coordination with global stakeholders.
