As an IT Engineer, you will play a central role in maintaining and enhancing the technology environment for a team dedicated to advancing AI through specialized hardware. Your work will directly support engineers and researchers by ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT systems across all stages of development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on IT support for engineering, software, and operations teams, ensuring systems are optimized for high-performance workflows.
- Lead employee onboarding and offboarding, configuring access and devices in alignment with technical and leadership requirements.
- Manage and maintain endpoint devices, including laptops and desktops across macOS, Windows, and Linux, with a focus on security and remote manageability.
- Deploy and oversee mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) solutions to enforce compliance and streamline device operations.
- Implement and monitor antivirus, antimalware, and endpoint detection and response (EDR/XDR) systems to safeguard infrastructure.
- Administer identity and access management, including Single Sign-On (SSO), automated provisioning via Rippling and Okta, and role-based access controls.
- Design and maintain wired and wireless networks, including Wi-Fi access points and controllers, ensuring stable and secure connectivity.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VLANs, and VPNs to support secure remote access and network segmentation.
- Write and maintain automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to improve system provisioning, patching, and monitoring.
- Integrate alerting and monitoring tools to increase system reliability and reduce manual intervention.
- Ensure IT operations meet compliance standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001 through documentation, audits, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering and security teams to align infrastructure strategy with technical goals and innovation cycles.
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of experience in IT support or engineering roles with fluency in macOS, Windows, and Linux environments.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with a proactive, ownership-focused approach.
- Experience in fast-moving technical or startup environments where agility and precision are essential.
- Familiarity with endpoint management platforms such as JumpCloud, Jamf, Intune, or Kandji.
- Hands-on knowledge of EDR/XDR tools including CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and system management.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs, along with firewall and zero-trust access models.
- Experience with identity and access management (IAM), SSO, and secure authentication workflows.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, particularly in compute-intensive environments.
- Working knowledge of Okta for identity management.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role based in San Jose (Santana Row), requiring full in-person presence. The team operates with a strong emphasis on engineering excellence, collaboration, and technical ownership. There are no remote work options available.
