Role Overview
As a Junior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in building and maintaining software that powers a growing financial platform. Based in Colombia, you’ll collaborate within a fast-moving environment that values technical excellence, innovation, and rapid execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute actively across all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept to deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features
- Assess and integrate software tools and development practices to improve efficiency
- Support system architecture decisions and provide insights on application usage
- Ensure deliverables align with project timelines and meet industry best practices
What You Bring
- Proven experience developing single-page applications using modern frontend frameworks
- Hands-on background in building and maintaining backend APIs
- Familiarity with relational databases, including writing and optimizing queries
- Understanding of software development methodologies, version control, and release workflows
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
Technology Environment
You’ll work with a modern, scalable stack including Golang, Python, and TypeScript for services and APIs, React and React Native for frontend development, and MySQL, Postgres, and Elasticsearch for data storage. Infrastructure runs on AWS, orchestrated via Kubernetes, with GitLab managing CI/CD pipelines. Testing at all levels—unit, integration, and end-to-end—is a core part of development.
Compensation & Work Structure
This is a locally hired position in Colombia with a monthly gross salary ranging from $1,500 to $2,700 USD. The role is based within the country and follows local employment frameworks.
