We're looking for a skilled Kernel Developer to help extend the lifecycle of enterprise Linux distributions by backporting critical kernel patches across multiple versions and platforms. This role is central to maintaining system security and stability through precise, well-tested code changes.
What You'll Do
- Backport upstream kernel patches to support a wide range of RPM and Debian-based distributions
- Write, test, and debug low-level C code focused on security fixes and CVE resolution
- Automate repetitive tasks using Python, Golang, or Bash to improve team velocity
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate automation and AI-assisted development tools
- Take long-term responsibility for kernel modules and patching workflows
What We Need
- Strong proficiency in C and Linux kernel development, with demonstrated debugging experience
- Familiarity with Git, GDB, and the GNU toolchain for patch management and analysis
- Experience writing scripts in Python, Golang, or Shell for system automation
- Upper-intermediate or higher English proficiency for documentation and collaboration
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with QEMU, Docker, and Jenkins in development pipelines
- Knowledge of Behavior Driven Development for test design
- Exposure to AI-powered development tools
- Background in core dump analysis and virtualization technologies
