Lead Cloud Architect – Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Role Overview
This position is responsible for shaping and guiding the development of scalable, cloud-native systems on Google Cloud Platform. You will lead architectural decisions, design event-driven microservices, and ensure robust implementation across enterprise-level environments. Close coordination with a UK-based technical team is essential, requiring availability until 18:00 local Poland time.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud-native solutions using GCP, emphasizing event-driven and distributed system patterns
- Lead technical direction for microservices architecture and API integration using Apigee X
- Apply Infrastructure as Code principles using Terraform for repeatable, reliable deployments
- Ensure system observability through monitoring, logging, and tracing with New Relic
- Collaborate across teams to promote architectural best practices and cloud security standards
- Support DevOps workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Advocate for Test-Driven Development and maintain high code quality across services
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record as a hands-on software architect or developer in large-scale cloud environments
- Deep understanding of GCP services and cloud architecture principles
- Experience designing and managing event-driven systems and message brokers like Pub/Sub or Kafka
- Strong knowledge of API design and management with Apigee X
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Working experience with observability tools such as New Relic
- Programming skills in Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Go
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions
- Excellent communication abilities, including technical documentation and system diagramming
Preferred Skills
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification
- Hands-on experience with serverless platforms such as Cloud Functions and Cloud Run
- Background in data engineering or streaming data architectures
- Experience with Diagrams-as-Code tools
- Contributions to open-source software projects

Compensation & Benefits
Net hourly rate for B2B contracts ranges from 200 to 240 PLN.
