Lead Infrastructure Engineer – This role drives the end-to-end design and evolution of a mission-critical Edge Communications Platform across a worldwide terminal network. You will define long-term technical roadmaps, establish engineering standards, and lead key decisions shaping network and security infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the architectural vision and strategic direction for edge networking solutions.
- Set technical governance, design patterns, and platform-wide engineering practices.
- Lead technical reviews and guide implementation of routing, switching, firewalls, intrusion prevention, network access control, and wireless systems.
- Direct automation strategies using Infrastructure as Code and develop frameworks for self-healing systems.
- Collaborate with operational technology and security teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.
- Manage large-scale network programs, including risk assessment, cross-team coordination, and stakeholder reporting.
- Ensure adherence to cybersecurity standards including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, and HIPAA.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and architectural records.
- Monitor and report on platform performance, reliability, and security KPIs.
Qualifications
- 15+ years in networking and security, with leadership experience in complex environments.
- 5+ years focused on industrial networks and OT integration.
- Deep knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching technologies, and MPLS.
- Proven expertise in next-gen firewalls, zero trust architecture, SIEM, DLP, WAF, and micro-segmentation.
- Strong automation skills using Python, Ansible, Bash, and Terraform.
- Familiarity with Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, and Aruba platforms.
- Understanding of industrial protocols such as PROFINET, Modbus, and DNP3.
- Experience leading engineering teams and delivering multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.
Preferred Credentials
- CCNP, CCIE, TOGAF, or CISSP certification.
