Lead Software Engineer
Role Overview
This position serves as a key technical leader within the engineering team, operating as an individual contributor while being accountable for the overall engineering output of the group. You will directly contribute to the codebase while guiding team practices, supporting peer growth, and ensuring alignment with architectural standards and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive technical contributions across the team’s software components, maintaining high standards in code quality and system design
- Support team members by providing guidance, feedback, and timely assistance during task execution
- Facilitate cross-team coordination to ensure smooth integration of changes and consistent technical decision-making
- Collaborate on system architecture and participate in technical design discussions
- Work closely with Product Owners to understand objectives and translate them into effective technical solutions
- Balance critical factors such as security, performance, maintainability, accessibility, and usability in all deliverables
- Coordinate with engineering leadership and architects across the organization to align on technical direction
- Identify skill gaps and recommend on-the-job training, while overseeing the onboarding of new team members
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to support professional development and maintain strong team relationships
- Act as a communication bridge, sharing insights between leadership and team members
- Lead performance evaluation processes and contribute to hiring decisions to build a capable, balanced team
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and implement changes that enhance team effectiveness
Leadership & Collaboration
This role combines hands-on development with technical mentorship and organizational coordination. You will help maintain engineering standards, foster a culture of accountability, and ensure delivery meets functional and non-functional requirements. By working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, you will help align development efforts with strategic goals.
