As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a central role in advancing the WMX platform by designing and implementing sophisticated index and benchmark capabilities. You will lead the development of scalable, high-performance systems using modern cloud-native practices, ensuring technical excellence across the software lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level guidance in software design and implementation, serving as a technical authority in Java and related technologies
- Develop and maintain clean, efficient code while conducting thorough peer reviews to uphold quality standards
- Lead critical projects from conception to delivery, breaking down complex initiatives into actionable workstreams in collaboration with product owners and quality assurance leads
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering professional growth and enabling autonomous performance through coaching and feedback
- Work closely with architects to translate system requirements into technical epics and deliverables
- Apply deep knowledge of design patterns, REST APIs, and microservices to build resilient, maintainable solutions on AWS infrastructure
- Strengthen cross-functional relationships with senior stakeholders, communicating technical concepts clearly across teams and domains
- Stay current with evolving technologies, including blockchain and digital assets, and contribute to the organization’s technical strategy
- Champion automation to reduce manual processes and enhance operational efficiency
- Support team development through participation in certifications, knowledge sharing, and professional growth initiatives
Qualifications and Skills
- Professional certification or equivalent experience in software engineering
- Extensive expertise in Java, with exposure to C++ or Python considered an asset
- Proven track record in full-cycle software development and delivery
- Strong command of REST APIs, microservices, AWS, and cloud infrastructure principles
- Familiarity with relational databases including Postgres and Oracle
- Solid understanding of design patterns and UML for system modeling
- Experience in business analysis, quality assurance, or emerging technology governance is beneficial
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to clean, maintainable code
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation ranges from $129,700 to $216,100, with eligibility for an Annual Incentive Plan based on performance.
