Airbnb is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to build and leverage advanced AI technologies that transform our customer service. You will deliver personalized and proactive support experiences, shaping ideas from inception to production.
What You'll Do
- Envision and champion the development of novel ML systems, product integrations, and performance optimizations.
- Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to design and build efficient AI solutions for customer service products.
- Learn and share the latest AI/ML technologies with the team across regions.
What We're Looking For
- A PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-9 years of ML engineering experience with ownership responsibility over large-scale software systems.
- Background in designing and developing AI and ML systems, with a passion for building efficient, scalable products.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and across organizations.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin is essential.
Nice to Have
- Experience with LLM-driven chatbot and Agentic AI products.

You will join the Community Support Products (CSP) Machine Learning team.
Work Mode
This role is based locally in China.
