Responsibilities
- Lead one or more teams of 6–10+ software engineers focused on developing and maintaining critical grid services and platform systems relied upon by millions of users.
- Ensure 99.999% service availability by institutionalizing reliability practices, incident response, and structured on-call procedures within team operations.
- Shape technical direction for low-latency, high-throughput platforms designed to handle millions of daily requests with consistent performance under heavy load.
- Mentor engineers in distributed systems design, scalability strategies, and platform standards while overseeing technical reviews for critical system components.
- Drive alignment across multiple teams, upstream dependencies, and internal consumers to resolve systemic challenges and advance cross-functional initiatives.
- Deliver complex infrastructure projects with high technical uncertainty by managing risks, stakeholder communication, and inter-team consensus.
- Define and manage service-level objectives, capacity planning, performance testing, and monitoring strategies for platform services.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to influence technical roadmaps and long-term platform strategy.
- Recruit top-tier engineering talent and strategically grow teams by developing and advancing engineers across multiple technical units.
- Coach individual contributors and engineering managers, identifying and nurturing future leadership talent within and beyond immediate teams.
- Set and track quarterly and annual technical and operational goals for platform domains, driving metric-based reporting and continuous improvement.
- Communicate clearly with executives and non-technical stakeholders, anticipating organizational friction and leading conflict resolution.
- Promote the integration of AI technologies across software and platform development workflows to enhance efficiency and customer outcomes.
