Responsibilities
- Create designs for mechanical and HVAC systems following relevant codes and industry standards
- Carry out engineering computations for heating, cooling, ventilation, and selection of mechanical equipment
- Produce construction documentation such as drawings, specifications, and project schedules
- Collaborate with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines to align design efforts
- Evaluate submittals and shop drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance
- Address requests for information (RFIs) arising during construction phases
- Perform site inspections to confirm field conditions and monitor installation progress
- Keep project records current and update designs as needed
- Assess mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and associated building systems during Property Condition Assessments (PCAs)
- Draft PCA reports in compliance with applicable ASTM standards
- Liaise with clients, internal teams, and external consultants for both PCA and design projects
- Utilize standard engineering software for design and documentation tasks
