As a Mission Planning System Administrator, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing mission-critical systems for the F-35 Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) at Iwakuni, Japan. Working closely with U.S. Marine Corps personnel, you will ensure seamless mission planning, execution, and debriefing operations through technical oversight and direct user support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily technical assistance to users across the ALIS platform suite
- Perform COMSEC tasks and prepare for CRO responsibilities as required
- Support pilots in mission planning and post-mission debrief activities
- Install, configure, and update the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS)
- Administer, monitor, and maintain system hardware, software, and user accounts
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues affecting mission planning and data transfer
- Conduct system backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures
- Collect operational data to evaluate system performance and refine workflows
- Coordinate installation of extranet infrastructure with communications teams
- Act as primary contact for troubleshooting and resolving customer-reported issues
- Train and guide junior mission systems administrators
- Oversee resolution of IT and cryptographic system challenges tied to mission planning
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance with investigation within the past six years, or enrollment in Continuous Verification
- Current DoD IAT Level II certification such as Security+, CySA+, or CCNA
- Proven experience in IT system administration with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Background in mission planning and debrief operations for Fifth Generation fighter aircraft
- Willingness and ability to deploy in support of USMC operations
- Hands-on experience with at least three of the following: PowerShell, virtualization, DNS/DHCP, SQLPlus, RMAN, data import/export, Layers 2 and 3 networking, firewalls, intrusion detection
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience with five years of professional work, or three years with a related Master’s degree
- 1–2 years as an F-35 Mission Planning or ALIS Administrator
- Experience supporting pilots using F-35 ALIS for mission planning and debrief
- Familiarity with JMPS, Link-16, COMSEC, and fighter program operations
- Knowledge of mission planning workflows and operational requirements
