The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering department at Nexthire, overseeing the full software development lifecycle in an agile environment and working closely with the CEO/CTO to drive innovation and product delivery. This role combines technical leadership with strategic decision-making across cloud integration, SaaS, and multi-tenant systems.
What You'll Do
- Work on latest edge Cloud computing to solve difficult, manual and repeatable tasks for users adopting Cloud technologies like AWS, Salesforce, Microsoft and more
- Use the latest trends on building SaaS applications using multitenancy, scalability, large data volumes / Big Data and more
- Develop and expand our portfolio to support most popular Cloud apps (200+)
- Develop understanding of not just software development, but also how to design, develop and launch a product from concept to high customer use
- Work directly with development, support, implementation, and other internal teams as well as external vendors and clients
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the engineering department within the organization
- Act as both a technology and business expert, making decisions that will impact the current and future operations of the company
- Have hands on experience with AWS, Frontend HTML, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Java, design patterns, designing on UML, XML, web services, databases such as MYSQL, SQL Server with complex queries
- Possess a respectable knowledge of SQL and AWS
- Have knowledge of running large scale multi-tenant applications
- Handle team management and project management
- Be willing to work on multiple platforms/domains such as ecommerce, SaaS, CRM
- Have good understanding of troubleshooting methodology
- Provide oversight of the full software development lifecycle required for a group of developers and testers in an agile environment
- Lead staff to implement clients in the most efficient, time driven manner
- Ensure the total quality of the technical deliverables in their domain, making sure that they are secure, defect-free
- Mentor technical staff during projects to ensure continuous improvement
- Work with each resource to define and act upon career paths and obtain appropriate training
- Be responsible for the hiring, training, staff development, performance appraisals, corrective action and pay review of technical personnel
- Develop and establish department standards and procedures
- Recommend the most efficient ways to ensure best implementation practices of new upgraded products
- Evaluate and report progress and results
What We're Looking For
- Hands on experience in Java, Front end technologies like Bootstrap, jQuery, AWS, Modular software development, multi-tenant architecture and highly scalable systems
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience demonstrating required skills and competencies in engineering
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Hands on Full stack architecture experience
- In-depth conceptual functional and non-functional knowledge of Docker Containers, Kubernetes Cluster management and orchestration, microservice architectures, DevOps practices and tooling
- Previous leadership or management experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to determine the best implementation approach/methodology for assigned project(s) based on established guidelines and best practices
- Must be very flexible with learning new technology quickly

- Prior role/experience as an Architect
- Advantage if having experience on product development
- Experience with Salesforce and services
- MS/MBA or other relevant graduate degree
