About the Role

Role OverviewThe Pharmacy Channel Lead is responsible for managing and growing the pharmacy network in Abidjan, with a focus on strengthening team performance, optimizing in-store presence, and advancing omnichannel engagement strategies. This position plays a central role in executing commercial initiatives that align with business goals and enhance brand visibility across retail pharmacies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and develop a team of pharmacy sales representatives to improve performance and accountability
  • Design and deliver training on product knowledge, merchandising standards, and customer engagement
  • Develop and execute channel strategies tailored to pharmacy market dynamics
  • Identify and onboard key pharmacy partners for merchandising and shelf-rental programs
  • Negotiate and manage agreements for shelf space, ensuring compliance and performance tracking
  • Oversee the rollout of in-store displays and promotional materials in alignment with brand guidelines
  • Monitor execution quality, visibility metrics, and promotional effectiveness across outlets
  • Analyze sales data, market penetration rates, and return on investment for merchandising initiatives
  • Generate performance reports with insights and recommend data-driven improvements
  • Implement corrective actions to address underperformance and execution gaps
  • Build and maintain relationships with pharmacy chains, distributors, and decision-makers
  • Act as the main liaison for pharmacy-related programs and initiatives
  • Engage healthcare professionals through a mix of in-person visits, remote calls, digital outreach, and educational events
  • Promote brand recommendations among pharmacists through targeted engagement
  • Ensure consistent product display and optimal shelf placement across all partner pharmacies

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline, along with at least five years of experience in pharmaceutical sales or channel management. Proven leadership skills, experience in merchandising and shelf-rental programs, and strong analytical and negotiation abilities are essential. Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical sector is required. An MBA or formal pharmacist qualification is preferred.
