GE HealthCare is hiring a Region Service Engineer - Nuclear Medicine

About the Role

Role Overview

This position serves as a technical leader supporting Field Engineers across the U.S. and Canada region, ensuring consistent, high-level service delivery for Nuclear Medicine systems. The engineer plays a central role in bridging regional field operations with broader technical support, using remote diagnostics and real-time collaboration to improve system uptime and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical liaison between regional field teams and centralized support functions to align performance goals and troubleshooting strategies.
  • Monitor and respond to automated system alerts, guiding timely field interventions and improving first-time fix rates.
  • Use remote platforms such as RSvP, SynerGE, and Gameplan to assess system health, streamline repairs, and reduce downtime.
  • Support field personnel through direct engagement during installations, customer escalations, and complex technical challenges.
  • Enhance the Knowledge Management System (KMS) by documenting solutions and best practices for broader team access.
  • Lead process improvements focused on efficiency, cost control, and material utilization.
  • Collaborate with Product Operations and Engineering teams to relay field insights that inform product design and serviceability.
  • Support training initiatives and mentor field staff in the use of diagnostic tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Participate in Service of Tomorrow initiatives to modernize support delivery and adopt emerging technologies.
  • Analyze cost outliers and develop corrective actions in partnership with local teams.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate strong technical expertise in healthcare imaging systems, particularly in Nuclear Medicine. The role requires advanced problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple remote diagnostics simultaneously, and clear communication with both technical and customer-facing teams.

Required capabilities include proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, PowerPoint, email), the ability to travel up to 20% or more for on-site support, and flexibility to work non-standard shifts during emergencies or coverage needs. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. and not require visa sponsorship.

A 2- or 4-year engineering degree is preferred. Experience with GEHC Nuclear Medicine products, a customer-focused mindset, adaptability to change, and proactive problem anticipation are strong assets. The ideal candidate thrives in collaborative environments and drives continuous improvement.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role based in the U.S., combining remote technical support with periodic on-site visits. Travel may exceed 20% depending on operational demands. The schedule may include shift adjustments to support holidays, vacations, and urgent field needs.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $94,400 – $141,600, with additional performance-based incentives including cash bonuses and long-term awards. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with company match; life and disability insurance; paid time off; and tuition reimbursement. Career development is supported within a culture that values care, collaboration, and accountability.

Company Values

The organization emphasizes trust, transparency, and focused execution. Employees are expected to lead with integrity, take ownership of outcomes, and foster inclusive, supportive teams. The company is committed to equal opportunity, with employment decisions based on merit and without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, or veteran status.
