Role Overview
We're looking for a dedicated Remote Math Teacher to provide high-quality virtual instruction to K-12 students in the United States. Based in Costa Rica, you'll deliver interactive math lessons for elementary or middle school learners using a structured curriculum and digital teaching platform. This position is ideal for educators passionate about math and committed to fostering student growth in an online setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver live, online math instruction to classes of up to 18 students using a dedicated teaching platform
- Follow prepared lesson plans and curriculum guidelines to ensure consistent, effective learning
- Prepare for sessions, grade assignments, and provide meaningful feedback to support student progress
- Engage with students and parents through clear, timely communication
- Work approximately 30–40 hours per week, with scheduling focused on weekday afternoons and weekends
Qualifications
- Fluent in English across all language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening
- Holding a bachelor’s degree or higher (all academic backgrounds considered)
- Available to begin teaching by April 2026 and commit to at least one academic year
- Comfortable working during evenings and weekends as needed
- Strong interpersonal abilities and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children
Preferred Background
- Degree in education, mathematics, science, technology, engineering, or related fields
- Experience teaching math, though not required
- Familiarity with elementary-level math competitions, either as a learner or instructor
Compensation & Benefits
Teaching rate starts at $15 USD per instructional hour, covering all aspects of lesson delivery, preparation, and follow-up. An administrative fee of $10 per hour is also included. Incentives are available based on student retention, rewarding consistent engagement and performance. The schedule is flexible, designed to support educators balancing remote work with personal commitments.
