Responsibilities
- Design geospatial analysis strategies in collaboration with research teams to convert economic hypotheses into measurable remote sensing indicators such as changes in farming intensity, road conditions, population density, and infrastructure growth.
- Identify, assess, and acquire satellite or mobile network data from public and open-source platforms for targeted regions, ensuring data meets quality, timing, and research requirements.
- Perform preliminary spatial analysis on pilot datasets to detect shifts in land use, agricultural practices, infrastructure development, and economic activity patterns linked to prior interventions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of remote sensing proxies in capturing market-level transformations and validate findings against theoretical models of economic ripple effects.
- Create automated, well-documented analysis pipelines using Python, R, or GIS tools to enable consistent, scalable detection of environmental and infrastructural changes over time.
