This role focuses on delivering expert technical support for Juniper-based networks within a service provider setting. The Resident Engineer collaborates directly with the customer, either remotely or on-site, to ensure the stability, scalability, and long-term sustainability of their network infrastructure. Working under the guidance of the Service Delivery Manager, the engineer supports Juniper MX, QFX, and EX series platforms, applying deep knowledge of JUNOS and routing technologies to resolve issues and optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily technical engagement with the customer, supporting operations and troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, and IP service environments
- Develop in-depth understanding of the customer’s network architecture, operational workflows, and support procedures
- Lead network assessment workshops to evaluate current designs and define technical requirements for future deployments
- Test and validate new features, tools, and software patches in lab environments before deployment
- Support implementation and verification of network changes in pre-production and live environments
- Conduct technology reviews and troubleshooting sessions with customer teams
- Deliver regular updates on case progress, including root causes, mitigation strategies, and resolution plans
- Assist in designing scalable, resilient network solutions using Juniper platforms
- Contribute to the development of best practices for Juniper product deployment and operations
- Collaborate with peer engineers to share insights and reduce risks during major network transitions
